Thriving, not just surviving Faster Payments processes one million transactions in a day
Improved forecasting, planning, budgeting and investor relations; just some of the areas in which many corporates now accept that their finance functions will have to improve their game in the wake of the credit crisis, according to a survey, Thriving, not just Surviving, undertaken by CFO Research Services for KPMG International. APACS, the UK payments association, has provided an update on the new Faster Payments Service as the first three months have come to an end since its phased rollout started on 27 May.

Investment by insurance companies, pension funds and trusts Ultimate Finance Group plc full year results
Latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show total net investment by these institutions was provisionally estimated to have been £10.7bn in the first quarter of 2009, a rise of £36.5bn on the revised fourth quarter net disinvestment figure of £25.8bn. High energy bills cause inflation to rise again
